Doha reveals Arab film lineup
LONDON -- Doha Tribeca Film Festival has announced its Arab Film Competition lineup, which will showcase seven docus and seven narrative features. The competish will be judged by a jury led by Syrian helmer Mohammed Malas ("The Night"). Jean-Claude Codsi's "A Man of Honor," Halkawt Mustafa's "Red Heart" and "How Big Is Your Love," from helmer Fatma Zohra Zamoum, are just some of the entries included in the newly expanded Arab competish lineup, which is now split into narrative and docu sections. Featuring eight world preems, the competish will have a set of new awards up for grabs, including Arab narrative feature, Arab narrative director, narrative performance award, Arab documentary feature and Arab documentary director. Fest will also feature two audience awards for narrative film and docu with cash prizes of $100,000 each. The Doha Tribeca Film Festival takes place from Oct. 25-29, and will open with Jean-Jacques Annaud's Arab epic "Black Gold."
