Anyone good at figuring something out by ear?

I am trying to figure out "Evil Empire" by Joe Jackson. (Just the
chord progression, not all the notes, etc.)

I know the first part is A E B F# and then A E and F#? something. I'm
missing something here. I am also missing something at the part where
he sings "why do we need these (gd) lies."

Any help would be appreciated.
